Early 1991 - John and Andy of the Metro Heroines start writing songs with view to forming new band.
June 1991 - Audition drummers. Paul young, 17 yrs old, from Hayes joins.
2/9/91 - First gig at the Kings Head, Fulham.
October 1991 - First demo tape ("September" and "Dive") recorded at the Crescent studio in Euston.
Nov/Dec 1991 - Other warm up gigs continue, climaxing with a great gig at the Rock Garden (30/12/91) which is full of appreciative tourists.
10/1/92 - Brought back down to earth with a gig at the Moonlight Club, W. Hampstead. When it came to going on stage there was no audience at all. By the end of the set, about three people had turned up.
July 1992 - Second demo recorded at Fair Deal Hayes (famous for Babylon's Burning by The Ruts).
19/10/92 - Simon Watson of Music Tree management watches the band at the Borderline (Charing X Rd) and declares interest in being manager.
2/2/93 - After months of haggling, a contract is finally signed with Music Tree Management.
March 1993 - Demo recorded at Rocking Horse, Mile End, where Suede did their first demo. This was supposed to be paid for by
Music Tree, but I don't know if it ever was.
July 1993 - Single (Heaven) recorded at Rocking Horse, Mile End.
31/7/93 - Fordham Park festival, New Cross.
October 1993 - Band parts company with Music Tree.
5/1/94 - Single played by Mark Radcliffe on Radio One and once more subsequently. It also gets a play by Johnny Vaughan on Radio Five.
15/1/94 - Bad review of single in NME.
March 1994 - Start auditioning new singers.
14/4/94 - the 13th Note, Glasgow. The first gig with Roger Mcstravick on lead vocals within a week of him joining the band.
Sep/Nov 1994 - Dave plays 3 gigs with Elsewhere as second guitarist.
Nov 1994 - Third gig in six months at the Marquee, Charing X Rd. Despite these gigs and a new singer, there is still no real record company or media interest and the band still find it hard to build a following. (There is no justice!).
January 1995 - Demo recorded at Channel Studios, Canning Town.
March 1995 - Felix Gannon joins as second guitarist and plays what turns out to be the band's last gig at the Underworld, Camden.
March 1995 - Andy leaves Elsewhere and the rest of the band rename themselves "Suite".
